First Choice Realtors Company History

First Choice Realtors strongly believes in protecting the public's interest by abiding by our strict code of ethics. We also believe in providing our clients with trained, professional realtors that are all members of the National Association of REALTORS®. Our agents are dedicated to our clients and stay current through training and continuing education.

First Choice Realtors began as a local, independent realtor serving Ohio, Marshall, and Wetzel counties in West Virginia in May 1997 with Broker, Kevin McGilton, Nancy Brocht, and Jenny Seibert as co-owners, along with four other REALTORS®. We also became members of the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce. A Grand Opening and ribbon cutting ceremony was held in July 1997 at our new office located in Ohio County.

In an effort to serve our Marshall and Wetzel County clients and agents better, in January 2004, First Choice Realtors opened an office in Marshall County. A Grand Opening was held at the new office. With the addition of this office, we expanded to two office locations with a total of fourteen agents that served Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel counties.

In November of 2004, co-owners Kevin McGilton and Jenny Seibert welcomed Kim Hughes as their new co-owner. Hughes brought 13+ years of banking experience to the business having worked for a large financial corporation specializing in credit, finance, and accounting, as well as her ABR (Buyer's Representative) and GRI (Graduate of Realtors Institute) designations.

September of 2008 proved to be an exciting time at First Choice Realtors. Alongside many local business owners, the Wellsburg mayor, city council members, chamber members, several newspapers, family and friends, we took a leap of faith and opened a third office in Wellsburg. Two of our newest agents—Mary Fran Kowalo and Cindy McLean—along with office manager, Kristine Roberts, began serving client's real estate needs in the Brooke and Hancock County area.

With this addition, First Choice Realtors and its nineteen REALTORS® now conveniently serve the real estate needs of the entire Northern Panhandle. We also employ two office managers, one bookkeeper, and an advertising agent. In 2008, Marshall County Chamber of Commerce and Wellsburg Chamber of Commerce welcomed First Choice Realtors as business members.
