Things to Do on The Panhandle

Walk or bicycle along the trails located along the scenic Ohio River. The area offers many other attractions such as festivals, fairs, live theatre, shopping, museums, parks, or a trip to the zoo. Spend an evening at the symphony or try your luck at the Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino Racetrack or Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort. Take a tour of the West Virginia Penitentiary, or the famous Homer Laughlin China Company and buy some Fiesta®ware. The area is home to many historical places such as Wheeling’s West Virginia’s Independence Hall and a 2000 year old Indian burial mound at the Grave Creek Archaeological Complex in Moundsville.
